Joe Thornton

Joe Thornton (born July 2 1979, in London, Ontario) is a professional Ice Hockey Center in the NHL, playing for the Boston Bruins. He is known for being one of the leagues best young power forwards.

Thornton has played all of his six seasons for Boston. He was drafted first overall in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft for Boston. His best season was 2002-03 when he had 101 points.

During the 2004/2005 NHL lockout Thornton played for the Hockey Club Davos and won with the club the Swiss ice hockey championship. He is related to San Jose Sharks' left winger Scott Thornton.
